Mike Brown brings more than three decades of experience in education, leadership, and real estate to Local Real Estate School. Prior to entering the real estate industry, Mike spent 14 years in public education, primarily as the Director of Bands for the Republic Missouri School System. His background in teaching and training provides a practical, student-focused approach to real estate education.
Since becoming licensed in real estate, Mike has built extensive experience in residential sales, brokerage operations, professional standards, and agent development. He has served in numerous leadership positions within the real estate industry, culminated as President of the Greater Springfield Board of REALTORS® in 2024. Mike has also taught and mentored real estate professionals through training programs, workshops, and continuing education opportunities.
As an instructor, Mike is passionate about helping students understand not only the laws and principles required for licensure, but also the professionalism, ethics, and customer service skills necessary for long-term success in the industry. His classroom approach emphasizes real-world application, practical problem-solving, and preparing students for both the licensing exam and their future careers.
Mike's combined background in education and real estate allows him to create an engaging learning environment that supports students from diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
Rachel Watson serves as the School Administrator for Local Real Estate School, bringing nearly a decade of experience in real estate operations, education, and leadership development.
Since beginning her real estate career in 2017, Rachel has worked alongside hundreds of real estate professionals, gaining extensive knowledge in business operations, industry best practices, systems, and professional growth. Her experience has given her a unique perspective on what new agents need as they enter the industry and build a strong foundation for long-term success.
Rachel is passionate about creating an educational experience that prepares students beyond the classroom. She believes real estate education should not only help students understand the requirements of licensure but also introduce them to the professionalism, confidence, and knowledge needed to serve consumers at a high level.
